January, 2021-2025.

Since losing my mother in January 2021, I have used writing as a companion in my grief. On the fourth anniversary of her death, I began to compile some of the journal entries, notes app rambles and poems that I have written since that day into a zine.

The words in this zine are unedited, messy and not overly inspiring, but they’re real.

January is a snapshot into moments following a loss, and a way for me to reflect on the process of coming to terms with the most monumental change in my life.
